Who’s afraid of a little pattern?
Tom Parker via September’s House Beautiful; “People are often scared to do something bold in their homes. But that’s usually just what makes commercial projects so striking.”
No and Yes I say to that.
First, the no. I think for the most part people are excited to do something custom and colorful. So, no, they’re not scared. For example, this lovely McGuire Hayes Dining Chair (well, 6 of them) were covered with my Hilo fabric in Moss by a brave, bold and beautiful client for her dining room. They look fantastic!

But yes! Who hasn’t gone crazy over some striking commercial project? I know I’m not the only one who takes pictures of wall treatments, chairs, drapes, tile and flooring at amazingly designed hotels and restaurants. I’m not, right? I mean, who wouldn’t stop to take a pic of this very old, but very cool restaurant in Seville, Spain? (OK, not the tablecloths, but the rest!)

OK, for some new, bold commercial inspiration, check out Tom Parker and Andy Goodwin’s site Fettle! Oh my goodness. Talk about commercial eye candy! Here’s the link to their site and here’s the link to the article in HB. This is one of their projects, Chuc’s.

Be brave and be bold! And stay tuned for more on the Hilo collection and dining room project!
