Are you trying to keep busy? Maybe building raised beds and trying out gardening? I’ll admit this is a grand experiment. It’s also a lot of work! But it is lovely to watch things grow a little every day.
Not “having” to run so many errands (trips to the market for one item) has made me think more about my time and how I spend it. Wow, such a revelation that I can spend those minutes and hours painting and sketching new patterns! I just can’t get the new designs back from my printer fast enough. But, among its many lessons, this pandemic has reminded me to be patient. I’m pretty good at that to begin with, but now I’m almost an expert :). I’m paying more attention to the process and enjoying watching things come together (or grow) however slowly. One of my many new mantras is “enjoy the ride, man!” –Penelope, The Brother’s Bloom (Great movie)
My current “ride” is designing drapes, pillows, bedding, all things soft and colorful to adorn my own spaces. My Urchin print in Moss and my Kapa print were given beautiful life in the form of these pillows. I think the contrasting trim looks great. Time will tell if I have a green gardening thumb but I do love my new green things for the house!
My shelves are happy too. Little paintings and pictures are finding homes in every available corner. They are so perfect when it come’s to styling a new vignette. I’ll be adding these paintings and more to the site this June. Sign up below to get on the email to hear when that part of the shop goes up.
DM or tag me on Instagram and let me know what you’re making! Even if it’s a Margarita.
