Twin beds are so charming! Whether you’re designing a guest room or a room for the kids or grandkids, look at it as an invitation to break out of the blah and go bold! Styling a space that is both fun and classic is easy when you start with pattern – and upholstered beds are they way to go if you ask me.

Bungalow is a lively pattern that gives an enthusiastic nod to vintage bamboo designs and colors. and grabs your attention with high contrast and modern texture. Canna is its compliment and adds even more energy to this space. I chose moss green for this room but there are 3 other colorways in the Bungalow pattern to choose from and 8 colorways of the Canna.

Rounding out this room are some excellent choices for the classic bungalow vibe. A must-have is a piece of Campaign furniture. A chest like this is perfect for between the beds. Functional, tough and un-fussy, it is a timeless choice. Find a vintage or antique piece and it will be a favorite for years.

Schoolhouse is a great resource for vintage looking lighting. I love how you can mix and match shades, bulbs and colors. Black is always a classic!

The subtle stripe of this blanket adds more pattern without making the bed feel too overwhelming or busy. It comes in a Queen size which will allow it to drape over the twin bed with casual elegance.

I’m crazy about these new dark sisals from Fibreworks! Sisal rugs are beachy, durable and full of texture. Some don’t like the “scratchy” feeling under foot so a nice soft sheepskin on top as you get out of bed is heaven.

Just about anything can go at the foot of the bed. A big, lidded basket for storage, an ottoman or this cool bench from Redford House. They offer some nice leathers and this chocolate color is beautiful, but you could also go with a moss green linen like the Italian line I carry at the studio.
